Come In From The Cold by Marc Broussard

The first time I heard Marc Broussard's 'Come In From The Cold' was during the release of his Save Our Souls LP on June 26, 2007. Prior to hearing the song my husband and I had seen Marc's vivid black/white contrast video for his cover of Reverend Al Green's 'Love & Happiness'.

We had been blown away by Marc's vocal skills and decided he was worth exploring even if it meant purchasing ALL of his earlier released EP's and LP's before the S.O.S. album.  After purchasing Save Our Souls my husband and I would spend countless hours listening to the track  from beginning to end, reminiscing over songs like 'Harry Hippie' and "You Met Your Match".

His music transported us back to the days when then music was the central theme around our parents get together with family and friends. The nostalgia of the music prompted us to discover the one and only original track on the entire album.

Clearly not a remake but merely a musical interlude to the emerging blend of yesterday and today, Come In From The Cold captures the essence of the  album with its memorable hooks and haunting melodies. It's not only one of my favorite songs but a  timeless masterpiece worth archiving.

May this song warm your hearts! (:
